Early Life
Born in the tiny town of Sebastopol, Texas, Cody Johnson learned music by ear in church from his father while balancing a passion for professional bull riding and a later career as a prison guard before committing to country music full-time.
Career Highlights
Cody Johnson self-released six albums starting with Black and White Label in 2006. He notably refused early Nashville record deals that required him to remove his cowboy hat, eventually signing a partnership with Warner Music Nashville in 2018. His career reached new heights with his first number one hit Til You Can't in 2021 and winning the CMA Album of the Year for Leather in 2024.
Family & Personal Life
Cody Johnson married his wife Brandi in 2008 after proposing at a Texas Roadhouse where they had their first date. The couple has three children: daughters Clara Mae, born in 2015, and Cori, born in 2017, and a son, Jaycee Daniel, born in 2025. Brandi worked two jobs early in their marriage to support Cody's music career and has since appeared in several of his music videos.
Current Tour & Setlist
Cody Johnson’s Live ‘26 tour launched in early 2026 and visits cities such as Bossier City, St. Louis, and Nashville with support from artists like Kip Moore and Alexandra Kay. His setlist features hits including The Painter, Dirt Cheap, and Til You Can’t.
