Early Life
Tyler Reed Hubbard was born on January 31, 1987, in Monroe, Georgia, and raised in a close-knit family steeped in church community life, where he developed an early passion for music that ranged from leading worship services to teaching himself hip-hop production alongside guitar during his high school years. After graduating from Loganville Christian Academy in 2005, he enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville, where he immersed himself in songwriting circles, vocal training, and campus ministry groups, setting in motion the partnership with Brian Kelley that would become Florida Georgia Line.
Career Highlights
Even while Florida Georgia Line was at its commercial peak, Hubbard was quietly becoming one of Nashville's most sought-after behind-the-scenes songwriters, accumulating over 60 cuts from artists including Jason Aldean and Kane Brown before launching his solo career in 2022 with the debut single "5 Foot 9," which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His self-titled debut solo album followed on January 27, 2023, on EMI Nashville, going Gold in both the U.S. and Canada, and featuring the number-one single "Dancin' in the Country," co-written with Keith Urban. His second solo album "Strong," released April 12, 2024, produced the single "Back Then Right Now," and he spent that summer supporting Kane Brown on the "In The Air Tour" before releasing new solo singles including "Whiskey Rain" and "After Midnight" in 2025 as he continues building his solo identity.
Family & Personal Life
Hubbard began dating Hayley Stommel in 2013, proposed during a helicopter flight on September 22, 2014, and the couple married on July 1, 2015, in Sun Valley, Idaho, where Hayley grew up. They have three children born within three years of each other: daughter Olivia Rose (born December 23, 2017), son Luca Reed (born August 19, 2019), and son Atlas Roy (born September 24, 2020), whose middle name Roy honors Tyler's late father, who passed away when Hubbard was just 20 years old. The family recently transitioned to homeschooling their three kids, with Hubbard telling Us Weekly that traditional schooling "just didn't feel like it was for me or my kids," valuing the flexibility it gives them to travel together on the road.
