Early Life
Born in North Carolina, Eric Church worked at his father’s furniture upholstery company and began writing songs on a guitar he bought at age thirteen before performing at local bars while earning a marketing degree from Appalachian State University.
Career Highlights
Eric Church moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting after college and worked as a late-night knife salesman before signing with Capitol Nashville in 2005. He released his debut album Sinners Like Me in 2006 and later achieved superstardom with the 2011 album Chief, which featured his first number one hits Drink in My Hand and Springsteen. Known as Chief for his signature sunglasses and stage presence, he has since earned over 10 gold and platinum certifications and recently became a co-owner of Field and Stream magazine.

Eric Church married music publisher Katherine Blasingame in 2008, and the couple has two sons, Boone McCoy born in 2011 and Tennessee Hawkins born in 2015. He has no previous marriages or famous siblings. The family lives in Nashville where they maintain an environmentally friendly home and grow their own vegetable garden.
