From Long Island to Nashville: The Meteoric Rise of Benny G

By: Brian Zwerner

If you’ve spent any time on country music TikTok lately, you’ve likely heard the soulful, raspy baritone of Benny G. The Long Island native turned Nashville breakout is proving that a “no plan B” attitude, combined with serious guitar chops, is a winning formula in the modern music scene.

Benny G’s journey is a quintessential story of grit and talent. After cutting his teeth playing pizzerias and bars upon moving to Music City, he caught the industry's eye at Whiskey Jam. Since then, he’s swapped the pizza parlors for major label backing from Sony Music Nashville. His sound, a "country-soul" blend influenced by heavyweights like Chris Stapleton and John Mayer, has clearly struck a chord, with tracks like "I Got A Feeling" and "An Hour or So" racking up millions of views.

For those who have been watching his viral studio sessions and waiting to see the magic in person, the wait is over. He’ll be making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry on April 18th.  Benny G also just dropped a major touring update that will take him across the U.S. this spring and summer. The newly announced dates include stops at Lexington’s The Burl (April 22) and Chattanooga’s Barrelhouse Ballroom (April 23).

The momentum carries into June with a heavy Northeast presence, featuring shows at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion (June 12) and the Santander Arena in Reading (June 20). Whether he’s playing a cozy ballroom or a massive amphitheater, one thing is certain: Benny G is no longer just a social media sensation. He’s a certified stage presence. Grab your tickets before the secret is officially out.
