Shane Smith and the Saints are an Austin, Texas-based red dirt band who spent a decade grinding eight-hour bar sets into a national following, earned a Gold record with "All I See Is You," gained a massive new audience through their live performance on the Paramount Network's Yellowstone, and cemented their reputation as one of the hardest-working live acts in American roots music by selling out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 36 hours on the strength of their acclaimed 2024 album "Norther."

Current Tour & Setlist

The Saints' 2026 "Live Free Tour" launched February 5 and ran through April, including back-to-back headlining nights at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on February 20 and 21 with support from Ray Wylie Hubbard and Wade Forster, followed by summer festival and headline dates including Red Mile Gaming and Racing in Lexington, Kentucky on June 7, the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on July 6 as part of the Calgary Stampede, and Outer Harbor Buffalo on August 26. The band is also rotating through select dates on Koe Wetzel's "Night Champion World Tour" this summer as one of his featured support acts, and fans can expect a setlist built around "All I See Is You," "Hummingbird," "The Greys Between," and "Fire in the Ocean."

Early Life

Shane Smith grew up in Terrell, Texas, a small town about an hour east of Dallas, as one of four brothers in a family he has described as a great place to grow up, with his early years spent on bikes with friends and brothers in a tight-knit community that valued hard work and authenticity. He first headed to Tyler Junior College in East Texas, where he played on the tennis program, before transferring to St. Edwards University in Austin, where the lure of the Live Music Capital of the World pulled him fully toward songwriting and performing.

Career Highlights

Smith formed Shane Smith and the Saints in Austin in 2011 after connecting with fiddle player Bennett Brown and building out the current lineup of Dustin Schaefer on lead guitar, Chase Satterwhite on bass, and Zach Stover on drums, then spent years grinding marathon gigs at Austin venues like The Stage on Sixth, sometimes playing eight-hour back-to-back sets that forged the band's tight live chemistry and earned them a grassroots following across Texas. The band released their debut album "Coast" in 2013 and followed it with "Geronimo" in 2015, which produced the Gold-certified "All I See Is You," before "Hail Mary" in 2019 introduced their heavier current sound and an appearance on the Paramount Network series Yellowstone, where the band performed live onscreen during a key scene, dramatically expanding their national audience. Their fourth album "Norther," released March 1, 2024 via Thirty Tigers and their own Geronimo West Records, was recorded during touring breaks and earned the band their Rolling Stone feature debut, a CBS Saturday Morning television appearance, and back-to-back sold-out nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre that they sold out in just 36 hours.

Family & Personal Life

Shane Smith keeps his personal life intensely private, and no verified details about relationships, marriage, or family life beyond his Terrell, Texas upbringing and his close bond with his three brothers have been made public. His songwriting draws deeply from personal experience and emotional authenticity, and he has said the music that moves him most is anything he can connect to on a genuine level, a philosophy that has defined both his writing and the Saints' identity as a band since their earliest days.
