Elizabeth Nichols (born June 21, 2002) is a Plano, Texas-born, Kentucky-raised singer-songwriter and Pulse Records artist who dropped out of law school at Belmont University in January 2025 to pursue music full time after her debut single "I Got a New One" went viral and was covered by Kelly Clarkson on national television, earning her a Grand Ole Opry debut, a Billboard Country Rookie of the Month honor, sold-out shows in London, a debut EP on Pulse Records, and her first-ever headlining tour in the fall of 2026, all within her first 18 months as a professional artist.

Nichols is spending summer 2026 on a packed festival run that includes the Minnesota Country Club festival in Saint Paul on July 11, Lollapalooza in Chicago in late July, and the LASSO festival in Montreal on August 15, plus support dates on Jason Aldean's "Songs About Us Tour" beginning August 21 with stops in Charleston, West Virginia and Cincinnati, and a performance on Disney Celebrates America: Nashville's Star-Spangled Bash on ABC on July 4. She then launches her first-ever headlining tour, "I Don't Kiss and Tell, I Kiss and Tour," on September 29 in San Diego, hitting the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Globe Hall in Denver, Carol's Pub in Chicago, Exit/In in Nashville, the Mercury Lounge in New York City, and Pearl Street Warehouse in Washington D.C. before wrapping October 25 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with fans able to expect a setlist built around "I Got a New One," "Mama," "Little Birds," "Paul Revere," and new material from her upcoming debut album.
Early Life
Born June 21, 2002, in Plano, Texas, and raised on a farm outside Louisville, Kentucky, Elizabeth Nichols is the daughter and granddaughter of pastors who grew up singing in church and writing stories from an early age, deeply absorbing Toby Keith's humor-laced storytelling and Kacey Musgraves's wry commentary alongside the gospel music that filled her household and community. At nine she wanted nothing more than to be Hannah Montana, dressing as her for three consecutive Halloweens, but by high school she had set aside performing dreams entirely to focus on academics, going on to study writing at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated before earning a master's degree in accounting in Melbourne, Australia, where homesickness for small-town America began pulling her back toward songwriting for the first time.
Career Highlights
After returning from Australia, Nichols enrolled at Belmont University's College of Law in Nashville in August 2024 to pursue a law degree, but began writing songs on the side and posting them under an alias account on TikTok with everyone she knew blocked, and her independently released debut single "I Got a New One" in December 2024 changed everything. By January 2025 she had dropped out of law school to pursue music full time, signed with Pulse Records, co-wrote Sam Barber's hit "Morning Time," and watched Kelly Clarkson cover "I Got a New One" on The Kelly Clarkson Show, catapulting the song to number one on the Country iTunes chart for multiple weeks and landing Nichols on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart and its June 2025 Country Rookie of the Month honor. She debuted at the Grand Ole Opry on November 1, 2025, released her seven-track debut EP "Tough Love" on Pulse Records in June 2025, performed at the Kentucky Derby, CMA Fest, Stagecoach, C2C Country to Country in London, and her first-ever London headline show sold out so fast the venue was immediately upgraded to a larger room, which also sold out within minutes.

Nichols keeps her personal life very private beyond her faith roots and her family's pastoral background, noting that her songwriting is her primary way of processing personal experience, with her debut EP "Tough Love" drawing directly from real relationships and observations she gathered during her years studying abroad and living far from home. She is 23 years old, unmarried with no children, and has joked in interviews that her exes collectively provide enough material for multiple albums, telling fans on her first headlining tour announcement that if one of her exes lives in their city she needs them to be extra loud.
